2019 Mid-Year Founders' Update

Team Tested- Memorial Day95-Edit.jpg

Hi folks,

As always, we love writing this note every year as a chance to express our gratitude to you, and to pull back the curtain on exactly what we’re up to. So to set the scene - we’re writing this from up high in our new HQ, a studio at 275 Newbury St. (4th floor, so… not that high). It’s the kind of workspace we’ve been dreaming about for years, so it’s amazing to be here. As of right now, we’ve got six beautiful stores, full of the energy of our fantastic community. To us, these spaces and the people who fill them are the stuff our dreams are made of - open, running, and connecting with you.

Looking back on the first half of the year, there are two ways we’re feeling particularly grateful. On the product side, we’re still excited about how well-received our Mercury Intelligent Heated Jackets, “Smart Comfortable” collection, and Built-to-Order offerings have been. On the people side, we’re grateful for so many new team members - Jeremy, Hammonds, Carolina, Lindsey, James - all added in the last quarter.

Looking forward, there’s so much more to come this year: We’re in the labs working on a “gym kit,” we’re continuing our collaboration with MIT to make thermally reactive garments (think clothes that actively breathe), and we’re making some monster strides on sustainability.

We also have a celebration for Apollo 50 in the works, so mark your calendars for July 18. Our Boston and Georgetown teams will be hosting events complete with special guests from NASA and special edition NASA products to support STEM education.

As always, we’re engineers by background - so no update is complete without a look at the numbers….

  • 007 years since Ministry of Supply launched on Kickstarter.

  • 4 Generations of Apollo Dress Shirts, including the latest Brushed version.

  • 6 cities with stores: Boston, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and now Georgetown!

  • 25 Aero Dress Shirt patterns since its launch.

  • 182 Team Selfies since the beginning of 2019.

Feel free to reach out anytime, get in touch, or stop by a store or HQ to say hello - we’re forever in your debt for the support you’ve given us so far.

Happy 4th!

Aman, Gihan, and the Ministry of Supply team
